Signing up for an Office 365 account

When you sign up for a Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Office 365 account, you should authenticate with OAuth from a global administrator account that has privileges for all users, services, and sites that you want to back up.

You must be a global administrator on the customer’s Office 365 suite or have global administrator credentials for this setup process.

Does Backupify store my Office 365 password?

No. Backupify uses OAuth2. The Office 365 Admin grants the application access to their data through Microsoft when they authorize scopes on the service-side.

Does the Global Administrator need to stay active?

No. Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection does not require the global administrator used to OAuth remain active or a global admin to keep the authorization and backups active.
