Scope

Datto's DCAT Certification has transitioned to the Technical Specialist II (TS2) Curriculum. This curriculum gives you all the same benefits that the original DCAT provided, such as Linux commands for troubleshooting and networking, experience with virtualizations and bare metal restores.  We also refocused the training for better interactions with Datto Tech Support so you can speed up your resolution time. Review the course description here.

Other benefits of becoming TS2-certified include access to additional sections of the Knowledge Base and access to nearly all troubleshooting resources.

After two years, you must renew your certification. To renew your DCAT or TS2 certifications, you need to take the Renewal course here.

What was the DCAT?

DCAT is shorthand for Datto Certified Advanced Technician. It was a two day training session that taught advanced techniques to manage your Datto appliance. Datto retired the DCAT program in favor of Technical Specialist II training in June of 2016.

What happened to the DCAT?

The DCAT Certification has now transitioned to the Technical Specialist II (TS2) Curriculum and gives you all of the same benefits that the original DCAT provided, such as Linux commands for troubleshooting and networking, experience with virtualizations and bare metal restores.  We also refocused the reason for the training to better interface with support in order to speed up resolution time.

Other benefits of becoming TS2-certified include access to additional sections of the Knowledge Base and access to nearly all troubleshooting resources.

For more information about TS2 or becoming TS2-certified, please review the course description on the Datto Academy.

Why is there no classroom session with the TS2 Curriculum?

The demand for knowledge has increased exponentially at Datto.  We support partners in almost every time zone in the world and we made the curriculum totally on-demand and online to give all partners that same knowledge.
