Exchange Mailbox Restore with Kroll Ontrack for ALTO (Kroll Restore)



This article explains the process for performing a Granular Kroll Restore on an ALTO appliance with no Granular Restore options in the GUI.

This article only applies to ALTO devices that are not on per-agent pricing. For SIRIS and ALTO 3 appliances, see Exchange Mailbox Restore with Kroll Ontrack (Kroll Restore).


Before performing the restore, you will need to purchase a Kroll license. You can do this through your Sales Executive, or you can navigate to the Purchasing & Billing → Service Billing page in the Datto Partner Portal. After you purchase the license, you will receive an invoice confirming the transaction. Contact Technical Support and provide the relevant invoice number in a ticket so the feature can be enabled.

After that has completed, you can proceed to step 4.3 of Exchange Mailbox Restore with Kroll Ontrack (Kroll Restore).
