Datto Networking: What Does the Reset Pinhole on my Access Point or Switch do?

Follow

Topic

This article explains the function of the reset pinhole on Datto access points and switches.

Environment

  • Datto Access Points
  • Datto Switches

Description

Holding the pinhole button on a reset-capable device for 15 to 20 seconds while it is powered on will clear its local configuration.

Once the device powers on and performs its initial check-in, it will download its network configuration as defined in the Datto Networking Portal. Complete the re-pairing process after the device's next check-in.

If the reset button is non-functioning on an access point, you may flash its device firmware. This will also clear its local configuration.
