What does the reset pinhole on my access point or switch do?

Topic

This article explains how to reset Datto access points, switches, and managed power units using the reset pinhole button.

Environment

  • Datto Access Points
  • Datto Switches

Description

Hold the pinhole button on a reset-capable device for 30 seconds while it is powered on to clear its local configuration.

Once the device powers on and performs its initial check-in, it will download its network configuration as defined in the Datto Networking Portal. Complete the re-pairing process after the device's next check-in.

If the reset button is not functioning on an access point, you may flash its device firmware. This will also clear its local configuration.
