Datto Drive Local: Networking Requirements

What are the networking requirements for setting up and using Datto Drive?

  • Datto Drive Local

This article describes the networking requirements and best practices for Datto Drive, including general functionality and port requirements with certain applications.

Speed requirements

There are no required speed requirements to access Datto Drive through the web browser or sync between the server and desktop/mobile applications. The speed of your internet connection, however, can directly affect Datto Drive's performance.

Router MTU Settings

The optimum MTU size setting for Datto Drive to communicate with Datto's monitoring service is 1500 bytes. This prevents performance issues caused by packet fragmentation since the Datto Drive server is also using a 1500 byte MTU size.

Port Requirements

Datto Drive uses WebDAV as its main protocol and uses ports 80 and 443. If you have connection issues, check to ensure those ports are open and not filtered.

Applications within Datto Drive

Datto Drive Local Considerations
