SIRIS Imaged Error Message: "Hardware imaged previously. Visit Knowledge Base to resolve."



This article provides troubleshooting guidelines for the following SIRIS Imaged error message:

"Hardware imaged previously. Visit Knowledge Base to resolve."


When imaging a Datto appliance using the SIRIS Imager, the imager returns the error message "Hardware imaged previously. Visit Knowledge Base to resolve" during the completion stage of the imaging process.


This error message is surfaced by the Datto Utilities environment when a newly-imaged device attempts to register itself in Datto's database, but an existing entry for the same device already exists. This can be caused by an operator attempting to re-image a device previously converted with a SIRIS imaging utility. 


If you are attempting to reimage already-converted target hardware for the purpose of redeploying or decommissioning it, follow the process described in the Re-Purposing or Decommissioning a Datto Device.
