Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Office 365 1.0: Common issues with OneDrive backups



This article discusses several of the common issues with OneDrive backups in Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection 1.0 for Office 365.

Here are several common issues with OneDrive backups that may be caused by the Microsoft API.  

  • Intermittent API availability
    The backups can his Microsoft’s API limits and may experience intermittent outages that are not actionable. Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection builds in multiple retry logic to reattempt the data capture as soon as possible.
  • User has not set up their OneDrive.
    When a user is given access to Office 365, they must access the OneDrive app and walk through the setup process to provision OneDrive. If a user is licensed for OneDrive but has not performed this step, Backupify will receive a 404 Not Found Error when trying to back up the user’s data. This will occur until the user provisions their OneDrive.
  • The user has been recreated.
    f you’ve deleted a user and then reprovisioned them with the same email address, the Microsoft system will recreate the user in Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection, This results in both an archived and active version of the user and their services. If the service shows as archived when it should be active, ensure you are accessing the correct version of the user in Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection.
