How do I get a CSV of my users to add to Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps?

1. Go to your Google Apps Domain Control Panel.  
2. In your 'Admin console', select 'Users'
3. In the header of the Users section, click on the 'Download all users' icon

Can I edit the CSV of users before I upload?

Yes.  Once you’ve downloaded the CSV from your Google Apps Domain Control Panel, you may add or remove users or columns directly.  Your CSV must still maintain the following format.

User CSVs must:
        1. Have a header
        2. Have the email addresses of the users in the first column

Other columns may be present, but their data will not be pulled into Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps. 

 

I have a CSV of users that was not generated by my Google Apps Domain Control Panel.  Can I upload it to Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps?

Yes. Any CSV of users may be uploaded so long as it is in the following format.

User CSVs must:
        1. Have a header
        2. Have the email addresses of the users in the first column

Other columns may be present, but their data will not be pulled into Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps. 

 

If I add users by CSV, will I lose my existing users on Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps?

No, users added by CSV will be additive to your existing users on Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps.

 

Is there a limit to how many users can be added by CSV?

At this time, we limit the number of users to 2500. 

Downloading user data

Which users are included?

This CSV will include all of your users who have been added to Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps for the sub-domain selected in the dropdown on the left.  It will not include users on your google domain who have not been added to Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps.

 

What other fields are included in my user CSV?

The CSV includes email, name, total storage, storage by service and if there are any notifications associated with the service.

 

Where do I find the user CSV?

The CSV is available from the Account Settings menu.  Click the gear in the upper right corner of the page, select Account Settings from the drop down.  In the left hand menu, select Domain Settings.  On the right you’ll see the button to download user CSV.

How often is it updated?

User data (i.e., names and emails) are updated as soon as the user has been added to the service.  Storage numbers are updated once per day.

 

Can I edit this CSV and upload it to change my users?

If you add users to this CSV and upload it, those new users will be added and no action will be taken on the existing users.  Users cannot be removed by CSV, so any user removed from the file would remain on Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps.
