Setting up SaaS Protection/Backupify for Office 365 for your customers starts from the Datto Partner SaaS Store. The Datto Store will display SaaS Protection/Backupify for Office 365 as one of the products available for purchase. Click that item to get to the registration portal. Enter the name of your customer and enter the email of an administrative account for the Office 365 domain. Create a password for the account. The password should not be the same password that is used to log in to the Microsoft's online portal; rather it will be the password that is used to log in to the application.
Note: The MSP must be an administrator on the customer’s Office 365 suite (or have administrator credentials for this setup process).
After creating the SaaS Protection/Backupify account, the Office 365 domain must be authenticated and grant access to the application. When prompted, log in to Microsoft portal using the administrative account for the Office 365 domain. After logging in please Accept the permissions that SaaS Protection/Backupify requires. Once authenticated, the application will scan Active Directory for accounts and begin the process of backing up data.
A few important notes about creating an Office 365 account:
- This must be an Office 365 Business account. SaaS Protection/Backupify does not backup personal accounts.
- The account you use must be an administrative account of the Office 365 domain.
