File System unmounted / Volumes are unmounted error



This article discusses troubleshooting for the error: File System Unmounted or Volumes Are Unmounted


Below are a few reasons why this error may occur:

  • There was a power outage on premises, and the unit didn't properly shut down.
  • There was a hard reboot done recently.
  • If the device was recently rebooted to a larger device (over 5 TB in size). With more disks in the array, it takes longer to initialize. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for this to occur.


This error typically resolves after giving the device some time to catch up. If you are still receiving this error message after some time, reboot the appliance.
