Installing the Linux Agent on a Citrix XenServer VM

Scope

This articles describes the requirements needed prior to installing the Datto Linux Agent to a Citrix XenServer VM working on CentOS 6 or Debian 7.

Prerequisites 

To install and run the Datto Linux Agent on CentOS6 or Debian 7, the following steps must be followed prior to installation:

  • CentOS

Run the following command prior to the installation:

sudo echo "options dattobd MAY_HOOK_SYSCALLS=0" > /etc/modprobe.d/dattobd.conf
  • Debian 7

Add the following file to the existing /etc/modules file:

dattobd may_hook_syscalls=0

Limitations

When you reboot the VM, the next backup will be a full backup.
