Why is Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps utilizing the Datto Cloud?

In December of 2014, Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps joined with Datto to create the first Total Data Protection Platform to protect your business data no matter where it lives. The combined offering, in addition to the Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps products you already know and love, provides comprehensive options for backup, disaster recovery and business continuity for companies of all sizes, ranging from small- to medium-sized businesses to large enterprises.

As part of enhancing our cloud-to-cloud backup product line all Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps services including compute infrastructure and data storage will migrate to the Datto Cloud. The Datto Cloud already backs up 1 million Datto customer computers a day and is purpose built for security, speed and reliability. Of course, all of your current backups will be preserved as we move to Datto Cloud.  We'll be migrating core services and previous backups over the next couple of months. Once we have completed our migration to the Datto Cloud, all of your future backups will automatically be stored and replicated in multiple geographically redundant Datto Cloud datacenters.
