Where are my Google Sites backups?

Follow

Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps backs up Google Sites in a different way than we back up Google Drive, Calendar, Contacts, and Gmail data. We backup your entire domain's Sites data under the Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps account owner's user ONLY

Note: The platform does not backup Sites created by any Google Apps users who are not backing up with Backupify... the only Sites backups we captured are from the users that been added to Backupify.

We do this because an administrator for the domain already has access to all of domain's Sites data on the Google Apps end. We do not backup the data for each individual user because it is all a duplicate of the admin’s data that is already backing up. This would result in an increased use of Sites API bandwidth to pull the data over to Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps.

All domains have an unpublished limit to the amount of bandwidth that can be used daily on their Sites service and, if that limit is exceeded, access to Sites is shut down for the domain. Our method of backing up Sites is intended to avoid that.

If your Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection for Google Apps primary admin/domain owner has changed, the Sites data may still be backing up under the original domain owner. If this needs to be changed, contact Support.
