Cloud Continuity for PCs: Status page



This article explains how to manage backups and perform restores for production machines protected by the Datto Cloud Continuity for PCs agent.

This article assumes that you have already installed the Datto Cloud Continuity Agent on your protected machine and that the agent has begun taking backups. If you have not already done so, see the Cloud Continuity for PCs: Getting Started article before proceeding.


All Cloud Continuity backups reside on Datto's cloud servers. Partners can manage them from the Cloud Continuity Status section of the Partner Portal. From this section of the Partner Portal, you can perform the following functions for your clients:

  • View the Cloud Continuity Agents in an environment
  • Monitor backup status
  • Perform a restore


1. To access the Cloud Continuity Status page, log into the Datto Partner Portal, and select Status → Cloud Continuity Status.

2. You will see a Cloud Continuity Status page similar to the example shown in Figure 2.

From the Cloud Continuity Status page, the following information is available. 

A. Hide Overview: Toggles the visibility of the Overview pane.
B. Overview: Reports key information about subscription status; the information shown here is:

  1. Subscription: Itemizes the types of subscriptions available for your Cloud Continuity account
  2. Licenses Purchased: Enumerates the number of licenses you have purchased for each subscription type
  3. Licenses Deployed: Lists the number of in-use licenses for each subscription type
  4. Licenses Available: Details how many licenses of each type are available out of the total purchased
  5. Purchase Licenses: Opens the Datto store, where you can manage and purchase subscriptions

C. Create RMM Template: Creates a template to generate a token for RMM use.
D. Register Agent: Manually starts the agent registration process to pair a new agent to the Cloud Continuity portal.

NOTE: Before beginning the registration process, you will need the agent short code of the system you would like to register. See Cloud Continuity for PCs: Agent overview for more information about finding the short code. When starting the registration process, enter the short code in the key field.

E. Client and Agent Information: Displays backup status and offers management options for each registered client and its associated protected systems. The available information and options are:

  1. Client Name: Reports the name of each protected client. Clicking the name will load the Email Alert Settings interface, where you can manage the alerts and notifications for specific events related to the client.
  2. Restore: Launches the Restore launchpad for the selected client, where you can start a cloud virtualization or cloud file restore.
  3. Agent short code: Lists the unique identifier associated with each agent installation.
  4. Agents: Lists the total number of Cloud Continuity agents associated with the client and itemizes them by hostname.
  5. Last Backup: Displays the amount of time elapsed since each agent performed a backup; Cloud Continuity Agents back up every 2 hours.
  6. Last Screenshot: Illustrates the results of the most recent screenshot verification test for the selected agent, and reports the time elapsed since the previous screenshot ran
  7. Last Ten Days: Indicates whether or not the agent performed a successful backup in the previous ten days; mousing over each circle will display the date it represents.
    • Each circle represents a day.
    • A circle that is half green and half orange indicates that at least one agent for the client had a successful backup and at least one did not.
    • A green circle indicates at least one successful backup for the day.
    • A gray circle indicates that no backup completed.
    • Orange indicates that a backup was missed for one of the client's agents.
  8. Agent Management Menu: Enables you to perform the following actions with your Cloud Continuity Agent:
    • Pause Backups: Pauses backups for the specified interval.
      • You can pause backups temporarily for 1, 2, 4, 8, or 24 hours, or you can pause them indefinitely.
    • Manage Agent: Allows you to remove the selected agent and all of its cloud backups by choosing the Delete agent menu option; for more information about the Cloud Continuity agent deletion process, see our Cloud Continuity: Removing an Agent article.
    • Settings: Invokes the Agent Settings card, which enables you to configure bandwidth preferences for the selected system.
  1. Beta: Agents with the Beta tag are legacy snapshot chains captured during the Direct to Cloud (DTC) beta; see our Introducing Cloud Continuity for PCs article for important information about beta agents.
  2. Running: Indicates that a backup is in progress.
