How Do I Make Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection Exports Containing Multiple Contacts Readable in My Contact Management Application?

Question

How do I make Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection exports containing multiple contacts readable in my contact management application?

Environment

  • Backupify/DattoSaaS Protection
  • Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection 2.0

Answer

When exporting multiple contacts, Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection 2.0 saves all data into one vCard (VCF) file. Many contact management programs, such as Microsoft Outlook, do not have a native way to read individual contract entries from that single VCF file.

To read individual contacts, you must install a third-party VCF splitter application. As an alternative, you can import the VCF file into Outlook, export it as a CSV file, then re-open the file in Outlook
