Systems marked with ⚠️ must be rebooted before backups can occur



When you try to pair a system protected by the Datto Windows agent with your Datto appliance, you receive the message "Systems marked with ⚠️ must be rebooted before backups can occur."


  • Datto Windows Agent version 2.1.9 and above
  • Datto SIRIS
  • Datto ALTO


The protected system was not rebooted after the installation of the Datto Windows Agent. You will be able to pair the protected system with the Datto appliance, but backups will not be possible until the production machine reboots.


1. Reboot the production machine to finalize the Datto Windows Agent installation.

2. After the production machine reboots, start a backup for it from the Protect tab of the Datto appliance GUI.
