ShadowSnap Agent Legacy Error Message Matrix

This article provides a matrix of legacy ShadowSnap Agent error messages which previously appeared on the Protect page of Datto appliances. As of the release of Datto IRIS 3.78, these messages have received an update. Their current user-facing wording appears below.

Description

Legacy Error Message Current User-Facing Error Message
Backup failed as job ( 400 : Bad Request ) was unable to be assigned Backup failed because of a problem with making a backup request to the agent
Backup failed as job ( 401 : Unauthorized ) was unable to be assigned Backup failed due to a problem establishing secure communications with the agent
Backup failed as job ( 500 ) was unable to be assigned Backup failed because the agent was unable to initiate the backup job
.datto is not found or not accessible The backup failed because the protected system was not able to access the backup image file over the network
Backup failed because this encrypted agent's master key is unavailable Backup failed because backup image files have not been decrypted
Errno 4 Interrupted Function Call Backup failed due to unknown error in the agent software
Errno 13 Permission denied Backup failed due to unknown error in the agent software
Final Error: #2 The System Cannot Find The File Specified Backup failed because the agent was unable to access a necessary file path on the protected system
GUID mismatches Backup failed due to a problem with incremental tracking
Snapshot returned error code -121 Backup failed due to a process timeout on the protected system
Snapshot returned error code -1450 Backup failed due to insufficient resources on the protected system
STC -31 on Final Backup failed due to I/O error from the protected system during the backup process
STC -31 on Read Backup failed due to I/O error on read operation from the protected system during the backup process
STC -31 on Write Backup failed due to I/O error on write operation from the protected system during the backup process
