Datto RMM: User Tasks Not Working Correctly



This article discusses troubleshooting for issues with user tasks not working on your endpoint machine.

If user tasks are not working correctly on your machine, perform the following troubleshooting steps:

Verify the component is set as a user task

In the Datto RMM GUI, make sure that the component is actually set to be a user task.

Audit the device

You must audit the device after setting the component as a user task in order for it to correctly display on an endpoint. 

Make sure the agent is up to date

Outdated agents can cause problems when communicating to an updated platform. Additionally, we cannot test for bugs outside of the most recent version.

Gather information

If the issue persists, gather as much of the following information as possible before contacting Datto RMM Support:

  • The component name
  • UIDs of affected devices
  • Copy and paste error messages (if possible)
  • Does the behavior extend to numerous devices?
  • .NET version
  • Datto RMM Service and Process Log files (click here to learn how to gather the log files)
  • Component export information (if custom)
