Datto RMM: Agent Browser device discovery returns no results



When you attempt to deploy Datto RMM from the Agent Browser, it does not display available devices.

The Agent Browser cannot communicate with the endpoint devices due to an issue with their network configurations.


Open a Windows Command Prompt session, and enter the command Windows command net view. Follow the steps below based on the command's output:

If an error displays

Device discovery through the Agent Browser requires no errors in new view's output. A common error is Error 6118, which indicates the Computer Browser or Browser service is not running. For other errors, consult Microsoft's Knowledge Base (external link) for additional troubleshooting steps.

If no information displays

Verify that the device has these two features enabled by following the articles below:

1. Datto RMM: What is an Admin$ Share and how do I enable it?

2. Datto RMM: How do I turn on network discovery?

3. Run net view after following the steps in both articles.

If information displays with no errors

1. Attempt to discover devices using the Agent Browser.

2. If it fails again, attempt to reproduce and contact Datto Technical Support.
