When I add a new volume to my protected system and take an agentless backup, the volume does not get backed up

Issue

A new storage volume added to a virtual host protected by the agentless solution is not captured in backups. It also appears twice (once as a missing volume by the volume label) on the Volume Level Backup Control page of the Datto appliance GUI.

Environment

  • Datto SIRIS

Cause

The virtual host was not rebooted after the storage volume was added.

Resolution

Reboot the virtual host, and attempt another backup.
