Topic

This article describes the installation process for Version 0.3.5 of the Direct to Cloud Agent.

Environment

  • Datto Direct to Cloud (DTC) Agent Version 0.3.5

Description

Agent version 0.3.5 is a significant overhaul of the original DTC beta agent. It includes the latest Windows snapshot drivers, and it lays the foundation for the next major upgrade.

If you have an existing DTC beta agent install, you will keep your shortcode and UUID; you will also continue to back up to your current dataset on the same storage node initially assigned to your system. The next backup will include a differential merge.

Prerequisites

If the Direct to Cloud agent software is not present on your protected machine, follow the steps in the Direct to Cloud: Getting Started to install it and begin taking backups.

If your protected machine has a previous release of the agent software installed, make a note of the version from the DTC tray icon, and then follow its corresponding upgrade path in the next section of this article.
