Description

The BCDR category of the Datto Networking App enables you to manage your fleet of Datto Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) appliances from a mobile device while you're anywhere in the world. Select a topic to learn more.

The BCDR category is the landing page for the feature. A list of all devices for the logged-in reseller appear here, along with the following information. Refer to Figure 1 for each list item.

  1. System Name: Displays the hostname of the Datto BCDR appliance.
  2. Category 1: Shows the custom information you selected for the category in the Data Configuration menu (4).
  3. Category 2: Details the custom information you selected for the category in the Data Configuration menu (4).
  4. Data Configuration Menu: Selecting this menu will allow you to customize the information shown in Category 1 and Category 2. The available configuration options are:
    • Agent / Share Count: Total number of protected agents and shares associated with the selected appliance
    • Company: Organization to which the device is assigned
    • Last Check-in: Time elapsed since the appliance was last seen by Datto's monitoring servers
    • Percent of Local Storage Used: Total amount of used local storage, displayed as a percentage, on the Datto device
    • Model: Model of the selected appliance
    • Offsite Storage Used: Total amount of offsite data storage that the selected device has used

Device Detail: Overview

Clicking any device in the BCDR category will display its Overview card, which contains a detailed summary of the selected appliance's operating status. Refer to Figure 2 for each list item.

  1. Hostname: The assigned hostname of the appliance
  2. Model: The model of the device
  3. Agents: Loads the Agents page, which contains detailed information about the backup status of the systems protected by the appliance
  4. Health: Provides a general operating status of the selected appliance. The information shown is:
    • Last Check-in: Time elapsed since the appliance was last seen by Datto's monitoring servers
    • Percent of Local Storage Used: Total amount of used local storage, displayed as a percentage, on the Datto device
  5. Cloud: Lists information about the total amount of offsite data storage that the appliance has used on its offsite server
  6. System: Provides the IP address of the device
  7. Device: Reports the following information about the appliance:
    • Service Plan: The type of service plan in which the device is enrolled
    • Serial Number: The appliance's serial number
    • Company: The organization to which the device is assigned

Clicking the Agents tab from the Overview card will enable you to see the backup status of all protected systems and shares paired with the Datto appliance. Refer to Figure 3 for each list item.

  1. Hostname: The hostname of the system or share
  2. Screenshot: The time elapsed since the protected system last completed a screenshot verification
  3. Backup: The time elapsed since the protected system last performed a successful backup
  4. Last 10 backups: The outcome of the last 10 backup attempts. A green circle represents a successful backup. A red X indicates a failed backup.
