Error: "Portal based login is enabled for this device. In order to access this device, you must have a Datto Partner Portal account."

Issue

When you attempt to manage your Datto appliance via the LAN, you see the error message, "Portal based login is enabled for this device. In order to access this device, you must have a Datto Partner Portal account."

Environment

  • Datto SIRIS
  • Datto ALTO
  • Datto NAS

Cause

If you have disabled local access in your appliance's Global Device Settings, management via the LAN will be unavailable.

Resolution

1. You can access your Datto appliance via Device Web in the Datto Partner Portal.

2. If you would like to enable appliance management via the LAN, you can do so from the Local Access Control card of your appliance's Global Device Settings page.
