When does Data Warehouse update?
- Autotask PSA
You can select your Autotask PSA Report Data Warehouse update times, but the exact time to load the update job will vary. You should avoid querying the warehouse at 25 or 45 minutes after any hour in which you have set your Data Warehouse to refresh, as Autotask PSA will abort any queries that you run while the database is updating.
As an example, if you set your update time to 1 AM, the data may load in on the 1:25, 1:30, 1:35, or in the 1:40 group. How long the data takes to load can vary. The amount of time for the report data to load depends on the amount of change in your database since your last update.
To see the exact time that Autotask PSA refreshed your database on the previous load, you can run the following query:
SELECT * FROM warehouse_last_load
That query will return a Last_Load (the time Autotask PSA completed a data refresh) and a Backup_Taken (the time until which the data will be accurate). The data returned in this table is the only indication for when it is safe to perform a refresh.
Be aware that when you refresh the database, the following will occur:
- Autotask PSA will abort any currently-running queries.
- Any connected users will be disconnected.
Refresh time depends on the size of the customer's database. Typical refresh time will be less than 10 minutes.
