Datto Autotask PSA: Why is holiday not showing for some users?

Follow

Question

I have created a certain bank holiday set. Once saved, when I open Dispatch Calendar, the Bank Holidays are only showing for half of the Autotask users. Why is this?

Environment

  • Datto Autotask PSA

Answer

Because the holiday set is not associated with locations.

A resource's particular holidays are based on their location. A holiday set needs to be linked to a resource's location for users to be able to see them.

Each resource can only be linked to a single location, so they can only be linked to a single Holiday Set.

To associate a resource with a location and select the holiday set, perform the following steps:

1. Navigate to Autotask menu → Admin → Features & Settings → Your Organization → Locations.

2. Edit the location with which the Resources are associated.

3. Select the Holiday Set, and click Save.

BEST PRACTICE: At the beginning of each year, you should enter holidays for the new year. Our recommendation is to simply add the new year's holidays to the list that already exists so that you can maintain holiday time use data in your Autotask database.

If you change the Holiday Set to a new one. the historical data will be lost.
