Can I use DKIM or DMARC for outbound emails from Autotask?
- Autotask PSA
Datto is introducing support for DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) or Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC) in the 2020.1 release of Autotask PSA (Autotask PSA Online Help).
Before Autotask PSA 2020.1, you needed to create an SPF record (Autotask PSA Online Help) for the domain, with Autotask PSA as an authorized sender.
DKIM (Domain Keys Identified Mail) is an email authentication technique that lets you verify that an email was sent and authorized by the owner of the sending domain. The sender creates the DKIM by 'signing' the email with a digital signature located in the message’s header. The sending mail transfer agent (MTA) generates the signature by using an algorithm applied to the content of the signed fields. This algorithm creates a unique string of characters called a hash value.
With the 2020.1 release of Autotask PSA the IP address you receive email from will change. If you have followed the range of IP addresses specified in Whitelisting Autotask IP addresses (Autotask PSA Help), you will NOT be impacted, and you don't need to take any action. If you have whitelisted individual IP addresses rather than the range, we advise you to change to the range to avoid issues with receiving email. This change does not impact inbound email in Autotask PSA.
If you are currently using DKIM and are not receiving email from Autotask PSA, be sure you have whitelisted the range of IP addresses listed in Whitelisting Autotask IP addresses (Autotask PSA Online Help).
