Issue

Microsoft Outlook Extension toolbar is not showing up in Outlook after PSA installation.

Environment

  • Datto Autotask PSA

Resolution

First Solution: Uninstall and Reinstall

To uninstall the Outlook Extension:

  1. Start → Control Panel → Programs and Features (Windows)
  2. Right-click on Autotask Outlook Extension
  3. Select Uninstall

Note: You will need to close Outlook in order to uninstall the extension.

Once you've successfully uninstalled, you need to reinstall the extension.

To reinstall the Outlook Extension:

  1. Navigate to the Autotask menu as an Administrator → Features & Settings → Application-wide (shared) Features → Downloads
  2. Download the small .zip file.

Second Solution: Enable MS Outlook Extension toolbar

To determine if the extension is Inactive or Disabled:

  1. Click on the File tab in the upper-left corner of the main Outlook window → Options → Add-ins (left column of next window).
  2. Notice that the list of add-ins is separated into three sections: Active, Inactive and Disabled
  3. If the extension is not listed in any of the three sections, reinstall the extension and restart Outlook
  4. If the add-in is listed in the Inactive section, go to enable inactive add-in.
  5. If the add-in is listed in the Disabled section, go to enable disabled add-in.

Enable Inactive Add-in

1. Ensure "COM Add-ins" is selected in the Manage drop-down and click Go.
