This article explains how to view and interpret Windows Event Logs for Datto Cloud Continuity for PCs. The Description section contains a list of event log messages you might encounter while using Cloud Continuity.

  • Datto Cloud Continuity for PCs

Description

The Cloud Continuity Service may log the following errors:

Agent Tray Icon

  • Unable to communicate with Datto Cloud Continuity Agent (<error code>)
    • The <error code> will vary.
    • Indicates a failure occurred when communicating with the agent.
  • Invalid response from Datto Cloud Continuity Agent (<error code>)
    • The <error code> will vary.
    • Indicates a protocol error when communicating with the agent.

Agent

  • Failed to make dump directory: <directory path> | Reason: <reason>
    • Failed to register the directory with Windows Error Reporting to automatically generate applications for Cloud Continuity processes.
  • Failed to set registry value for: <registry key path> to: <value> | ERROR...
    • Failed to make registry changes for an agent sub-component.
  • Failed to create registry key: <registry key path> | ERROR...
    • Failed to make registry changes for an agent sub-component.
  • Failed to delete registry key: <registry key path> | ERROR...
    • Failed to make registry changes for an agent sub-component.
  • Failed to verify Datto local app data directory
    • The agent does not have write access to the local app directory of the user running it. Typically: %windir%\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Datto\Datto Cloud Continuity
  • Unexpected error occurred verifying Datto local app data directory
    • The agent does not have write access to the local app directory of the user running it. Typically: %windir%\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Datto\Datto Cloud Continuity
