Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection For Office 365: Roles and permissions

This article discusses the roles and permissions for the various user account types.

The permissions outlined below are not carried over from the Datto Partner Portal. All permissions are unique to the Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection environment.

Environment

  • Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection 1.0 for Office 365
  • Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection 2.0 for Office 365

Description

Datto SaaS Protection accounts

For 1.0 users

Role

Permissions

Restrictions

Description

Super Admin

 Can change billing information

Can remove users

Has full admin privileges

Cannot cancel accounts from within UI; the admin must call billing

There can only be one Super Admin on the account

On account creation, domain owner will be the Super Admin unless account is partner-managed

Can not delete this account

For 2.0 users

Role Permissions Restrictions Description
Super Admin

 Can change billing information

Can remove users 

Can be assigned to anybody and can have multiple Super Admins

Has full admin privileges

Cannot cancel accounts from within UI; the admin must call billing

Contact support to remove a Super Admin

If partner-managed, you can have more than one Super Admin on the account; all partner users with access will have Super Admin access

Cannot delete this account

General Admin

Has all of the privileges of a Super Admin except a few (see next column)

Cannot add services or change billing information

Cannot add admins

 

Backupify accounts

There are two tiers of accounts for Backupify direct customers: Professional and Enterprise. Professional tier accounts can only have one admin, whereas Enterprise accounts can have unlimited admins.

For 1.0 users

For 2.0 users

Super Admin

 Can change billing information

General Admin

Has all of the privileges of a Super Admin except a few (see next column)
