This article discusses how to connect to a Datto cloud network with OpenVPN 2.3.2 by using VPN keys.
- Datto Partner Portal
- Recovery Launchpad
This article assumes you have already downloaded the VPN keys for your virtualization. If you have not done so, see the following article: Partner Portal: New Recovery Launchpad: Adding a client VPN to a network.
NOTE: To complete this process, you'll need to use OpenVPN version 2.3.2. Newer versions are unsupported at this time.
Connecting to cloud networks with your Datto VPN keys
1. Run the executable on the machine that you'd like to have connected to the cloud network. Doing so will generate the VPN key.
NOTE: If OpenVPN is uninstalled on your machine, the key will then direct you to install the OpenVPN client and will provide a download page. Download and install the OpenVPN software onto your device.
2. After installation, click the key to prompt you to connect:
3. Once the software launches, you will see a pop-up box that displays multiple lines of read and write code.
4. You can minimize the pop-up box to access other network connections such as terminal or RDP.
