This article describes how to use the Teams Recovery page to restore Microsoft Teams files with Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection 2.0. Use this article as an aid when restoring damaged or deleted Teams content. You can also restore Teams Calendars.

Restoring Teams content

Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection does not currently back up or restore private channel content.

1. In the Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection 2.0 dashboard page, click the Recovery tab, then select Teams from the drop-down menu.

2. On the following page, click the name of the Team from which you are restoring.

3. To restore from a snapshot other than the latest one, click the Snapshot drop-down menu, then choose the restore point by using the calendar options.

4. Click the Content button. The files in that snapshot will populate in a list. If you are restoring individual files instead of the entire recovery point, select them by checking the boxes next to their names. When finished, click the Restore button.

5. Choose your restore type and location:

  • Snapshot: restores the entire backup
  • Selected Items: lets you choose individual files to restore
  • Restore To: lets you pick the Team to which the system will restore the data.

Restore locations

To ensure your business continuity, Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection will restore the data to the following areas:

Document libraries

Document libraries will restore to the root of the Documents folder of the team you selected.

Page libraries and wikis

  • Restoring individual pages: If the original page library exists, Pages will restore to the Site Pages library for the team you selected. Restores will have a date stamp showing the date of the restoration.
  • Restoring entire page libraries: If the original page library no longer exists, the restore process recreates it as a new Page Libraries folder for the team you selected. Restores will have a date stamp showing the date of restore.
  • If a folder of any kind exists with the same name as the one the restore process is creating, Backupify/Datto SaaS Protection will restore your page library to a folder labeled Site Pages and appended with a date stamp showing the date you performed the restore.

Lists

  • Restoring a partial list: If the original page library exists, Pages will restore to the Lists library for the team you selected. Restores will have a date stamp showing the date of the restoration.
  • Restoring an entire list: If the original page library no longer exists, the restore process recreates it as a new Lists folder in the team you selected, with a date stamp showing the date of restore.
  • If a folder of any kind exists with the same name as the list the restore process is creating, the restore process will create a new list and append it with a date stamp showing the date of restore.
