Datto Networking App: Client accounts created in the Datto Partner Portal fail to connect to the app

Issue

When you try to use the Datto Networking App to connect to a client account created in the Datto Partner Portal, it fails with the error, "Request failed. clientAuthenticationFailed (reason: "Client users are not supported at this time").

Resolution

The Datto Networking App does not currently support client user accounts; it only supports Employee user accounts. See Datto Partner Portal: What is the difference between adding an employee and adding a client? to learn more about different account types.
