Datto Networking App: The app prompts for upgrade upon login

Issue

When I try to log into the Datto Networking App, it prompts me to upgrade to the latest version and does not allow login

Environment

  • Datto Networking App for iOS, versions 1.7 and below
  • Datto Networking App for Android, versions 1.7 and below

Cause

Datto deprecated an outdated authentication endpoint as part of an authentication security enhancement.

Resolution

The March 11 release of Datto Network Manager introduces enhancements to the Datto Networking App's authentication security. These changes require users to upgrade to the latest version of the app. If you are running an older version, the app will prompt you to upgrade when you log in. 

These changes do not affect version 1.8 and newer.
